High quality gite accommodation in Pyrenees Orientales, Languedoc Roussillon, South of France

The house

Le Lézard is a 3 bedroom, 200 year old house on a quiet pedestrian side street just off the main square in the centre of Prades. Holiday home Languedoc Roussillon

Situated in the heart of the Pyrenees Orientales (a department of Languedoc Roussillon), Prades is a small town with a weekly market and all amenities are within walking distance. The holiday home has been recently renovated and furnished to provide high quality accommodation at an affordable price. It has a south facing roof terrace, with views over Mount Canigou.

It is an ideal base for a winter or summer holiday, being 50 minutes away from both excellent ski resorts (Les Angles, Font Romeu,..) and the sandy beaches of the Mediterranean (Canet Plage, Argelès-sur-Mer). None of the bedrooms have adjoining walls and we do not use the lounge for sleeping, hence it sleeps 6 people very comfortably. It would suit anyone wanting a quiet, but not isolated retreat with the ability to enjoy the varied activities of the area, or be completely inactive during their stay!

The spacious and comfortable accommodation is on 3 floors and comprises:

A small round marble table and bistro-style chairs in one corner allow you to breakfast there, should you wish, although we'd recommend the terrace for breakfast

King size Bedroom King size bedroomThis bedroom is slightly larger than the other double room and is decorated in pale yellow. It has a cosy feeling, due to the ceilings being lower than in other rooms - still over 7' so plenty of headroom, though the doorway has less than 6' headroom.

It has a king size bed from which you can enjoy the view over the mountains in the distance. It contains a large wardrobe and chest of drawers. This bedroom gets the evening sun which brings a mellow light to the room.

Utility Room

There is a worktop with a sink and a washing machine, should you require it (just remember you are on holiday!). Any washing will dry extremely quickly in the warm sun. We have also installed a fridge with ice box, so you can store your beers, wine and other cold drinks within easy reach of the sunny roof terrace.

Roof Terrace South facing terrace overlooking Mt. CanigouThe view from this terrace took our breath away when we first saw the house. It faces south and overlooks the rooftops of Prades and Mount Canigou. A large table and 6 chairs are provided along with an umbrella for necessary shade. The terrace is enclosed by stone balustrades approx 3' high, so is safe for young children. It is extremely private and is probably the most used "room" in the house.
